“I mean we had 34 cars going 110 miles an hour in downtown Chicago. I don’t think you could do that again.” Director John Landis "The Blues Brothers"

Car chases of the '80s were the best, because they don't have CGI effects yet.

No CGI was harmed in the making of these epic movies

The Blues Brothers is one of the most entertaining and funniest movies ever. The chase scenes are incredible, me and my buddy Matt watched it over and over and could quote so many scenes! Matt’s gone now but I watch it still in his memory. Rest easy my friend. 🙏

Look how satisfying these chases are compared to something like Fast and Furious.

The most enjoyable cinematic car chase I've ever watched is in 1981's Bond flick For Your Eyes Only with Bond fleeing his pursuers in a yellow Citroen 2cv.

80s car chases were the best because even with all the mad crashes, the people in the cars tended to walk away.

Yes it was unrealistic, but that's what made it fun.

11 year old me when I watch a car chase in a movie: "this is totally awesome".

41 year old me: "OMG hundreds of thousands of dollars worth of property damage, and car owners having to go thru the insurance claim process."

The greatest car chase in movie history is from H.B. Halicki's Gone in 60 Seconds. The final car chase lasts over 45 minutes, and they used the same car for the entire chase to keep the continuity of damage done to the car.

I love the wild chases from The Junkman. That slow motion of the Thunderbird and Magnum side-by-side is sick!

I miss Mad Max I from 1980 with its epic chase of the Nightrider in the beginning. That’s so efficient, low budget great action 😍

2 of my favorite car movies 🎬 No man's land and the wraith, No Man's Land made me love Porsche's, especially that 930 wide body in the Z28 chase scene, what a car! I can always see the hop then broken Fog lights 😆 Epic and who can forget Charlie saying " Italian trash 🗑 " walking by the Ferrari

Glad the blues brothers is at #1, it's not only the best car chase, it's the best film of the decade.

fun fact for the blues brothers, which is my one and only favourite, the dixie mall they used to thrash is actually demolished now... it stood abanadoned for many many years but just a few ago was finally demolished, kind of sad but id guess theres still some locations left from where they recorded many scenes
