VW Golf MK7 (5G) ESC sport mode activation #OBDeleven

Enable additional modes for ESC system settings available on the infotainment screen of your Volkswagen Golf MK7 (5G). Most cars by default have only two options: ESC fully active and ASR off. Cars with sporty specification, like Golf GTI and GOLF R have additional "ESC sport" mode which makes the stability control module to intervene later and therefor allows to slide bit more.
There's also option to code in different set of modes. You can use OBDeleven with this tutorial to code in desired #ESC stability control options in your car.

After a couple of years with my GTI, I just recently realized some of the hidden features that I didn't know before, and one is related to the ESC system. Mine has already all 3 options available, as you mentioned, and also as you mentioned, ESC is meant to control the spin of the wheels so the stability of the car is improved for most situations.

That being said, I felt as this function has to be on all the time, I mean why would I want to have my wheels spinning uncontrollably. But, just to test any feature this car has, I decided to try the ESC in sport mode and discovered that the car makes a lot of noise that otherwise doesn't do. So, putting the car in sport mode, changing the gears with the pedals on the steering wheel and having the ASR in sport mode, forces the car to make a lot of exhaust noise that in any other way does not.

The noise from the sound aktor is different in sport mode, the turbo, has it's own noise, but what I just said, is only happening when ASR is in Sport mode and is interesting at least, if nothing more. I haven't tested yet to see if it's the same with ASR off, but I suspect the noise would be maximum in Sport mode, as it is intended to be louder.

Just something I haven't seen anyone mentioning, and since I just discovered it, I though is worth sharing.

hello mr fix i really like your channel and your videos! i have a golf r mk7 it does not have a mode select option, so every time i want it to be on sport mode i have to put it on drive and push the selector back and it will be on sport mode and when i shift to N it goes back to drive. is there a way to make it so i can choose my drive mode on demand and keep it that way using obdeleven?

Wow wow, I have a racechip ultimate connect on my golf mk7 rline 1.4tsi, if I drive hard the epc light comes on and car shuts off power, I believe it’s because I can’t fully turn off this function, but I believe if I add this extra function, it will fully turn off the brakes from interfering with the racechip

W a6 c7 będzie działać? Wiem ze tam da się wyłączyć ASR poprzez przycisk ale esp jest zawsze włączone.
