About David Wilkerson

David Wilkerson was the Founding Pastor of Times Square Church in New York City. He was called to New York in 1958 to minister to gang members and drug addicts, as told in the best-selling book, The Cross and the Switchblade.

In 1987, David Wilkerson returned to "the crossroads of the world" to establish Times Square Church. As a pastor of the church, he faithfully led this congregation, delivering powerful biblical messages that encourage righteous living and complete reliance on God.

David Wilkerson had a strong burden to encourage and strengthen pastors throughout the world. From 1999 to 2008, he traveled around the globe holding conferences for Christian ministers.

I really miss David Wilkerson. We need so many more preachers like him. Nikki Cruz was a gang leader in NYC that got saved under David Wilkerson. I went to a church service one night and there was a man who was in gangs in NYC who got saved under Nikki Cruz ministry. He came from another state to preach at a small Assembly of God. That night I got saved. It was May 17 1979. His message was taylor made for me, and I know it was a devine appointment. Quess thats why Davids ministry is so special to me.

I just cried my eyes out. I do pray every day but I’m still screwing up… I cried and asked for understanding, I told him how scary this was for me to hear, how confronting it is, i was honest and said I felt upset and a little angry and I wasn’t sure if it was at him or the people I know who are like warm, I prayed for him to help me know how to draw him in close… I prayed and sobbed and thought of how few were being marked and the torment that will be felt by so many many people who thought they were safe and weren’t. This is utterly terrifying to hear. So Many people many people will walk by unmarked. Oh jesus my savior help me understand what to do better. Help me hear you help me draw close. In the mighty name of Jesus Christ amen
