"Okay so the autistic kid is going to start talking about trains now." killed me as an autistic _Splatoon_ player and more casual train enjoyer. Also the spreadsheet joke at the beginning of the video clued me in super early lmao, I had a feeling.

8:50 "Ok, so the autistic kid is gonna start talking about trains now."
As an autistic train enthusiast, real shit.

I would love to see this type of video about marlin airport in the future, as long as there is enough irl info and no ludicrous travel fees

funny kyoto station story: my friend and I moved to japan last year, but im mainland and she lives on an island a ways off. it blew my mind that the escalator rule which 99.99% of people follow in my prefecture and tokyo (stand on the left if you're riding the escaltor, walk on the right if youre walking up it) was REVERSED in west japan, so I wanted to point it out to my pal when we met back up in kyoto. its super silly!

turns out- there are no escalators on her island, she had not been mainland much at all and NOBODY FOLLOWS ANY RULE AT ALL IN KYOTO STATION SPECIFICALLY!! so she was *baffled* when i tried to explain the east/west split, or the fact people very diligently maintain this rule at all

"what elevator rule? ive never seen anyone line up that way, are you making that up?"

HOMEGIRL HAS EXCLUSIVELY RIDDEN LAWLESS ESCALATORS DUE TO KYOTO STATIOOON!!!

THIS is what makes splatoon my favorite series, not the multiplayer (even though i do have 3000 hours across the series), not the main story (except octo expansion), not the gameplay, it's the world. the amount of detail that is poured into this series is WILD and it makes me want a splatoon life simulator so bad lmao

13:01 those eye stickers are also on those pads you get on in the story mode to see an area from top down view

I love seeing the taxis and trains from other stages here. Even though it’s just asset reuse it makes the work feel so much more connected than if they bothered making unique vehicles for every stage for some reason

they should have called it lumeria pub and you could get drunk during battles

The switches graphical specs can not contain the splatoon developers unsatiatable hunger for references, easter eggs and text lore

I visited japan a few weeks ago. you can imagine my absolute awe as I, a huge splatoon nerd walked into this station. my parents thought I was going completely insane.

im trying to recreate splatsville in minecraft (not finished) (almost guaranteed to be just the hub but im not neurotypical so every time i see details about the splatoon world i go i want to make that NOW!!!) because i love the little details in splatoon (i want to teleport inside splatoon and go to their funny locations) so much so this video made me go yay!!! yippee!

Gotta love all the detail nintendo hides in the background and your breakdowns of them! These videos def helped me decide to study both game design and Japanese, so thanks for these lore dumps!

There are three types of people watching this video.

The ones watching for Splatoon worldbuilding/lore.
The ones watching for the Trains.
and the ones watching for both.

i think maps like these with so many different references to an area are my favorite because you can tell they clearly care enough about it to give it this much detail, plus great world building for splatoon’s world

Here's some interesting things I found while looking around Lemuria hub:
The station genuinely connects to the Deepsea metro, at the bottom right corner of the main surface lines map is the map used by Agent 8 from Octo-exp revealing routes like B09 and even the central station itself.
The station seems to have its own theater as shown on the first floor on the side advertising the theater plays.
There's an ad for what seems to be dentistry on the side of the map revealing the Splatlands.
There looks to be a quite noticeable area for people to eat there food from the food-court and even little viewing rooms under Lemuria's turf-war map grounds.
The map by Lemuria's exit has two styles, one showing a blown out view of all the floors in Lemuria Station (similar to the Splatlands multi-tiered map by the lobby tower) and one showing the first floor which (unlike the one in the Splatlands hub world) actually is accurate.
And the bus route maps and time sign/pillar things outside the station are rough replicas of the genuine bus route maps seen at the outside covered terminal at Kyoto Station. (I believe their for JR routes but I'm not sure and would love to know if its something different)

There is most likely a lot more stuff yet to be shown but that was just the things I found interesting.
