It was a devastating experience to live through. Losing everything you own is traumatic and feels 'world-ending'. Truly soaks your heart 💔 in sadness and then throws it into a blender and slams the 'fratte' button. There are some things so terrible, that no one should have to experience them. Natural Disasters, ending in the loss of everything you had are definitely on that list of things. 🥺😢😭

Also, the church ⛪ does nothing for you. The building itself CAN provide a shelter (just like any commercial structure can) but the religious connotation has zero effect on the situation. Think about it, people. If that 'god' existed, Katrina (or any life-threatening natural disaster) wouldn't occur to begin with. I'm not 'being negative'. I'm actually being very positive by pointing out that PEOPLE help one another through things. No one's 'god' or Savior-On-A-Stick has aided anyone in need. 🤨

This is a beautiful response to that week of woe.

The saddest part of the drowning of the people and the city is that it occurred because of the corrupt Levee Board and the corrupt Mayor and the corrupt Governor.

I wish more people and celebrities would donate to the 9th ward. I wish they could have had a telethon to raise money to rebuild the lower 9th ward. People several states away don't know about what's going on there. I'm from Indiana and i just happen to come across some YouTube videos about the devastation there and it's been 15 years.
