A large majority of Canadians agree that higher immigration is fuelling the housing crisis and putting pressure on the health-care system, a new Leger poll suggests.

New federal voting intention numbers from the polling firm also show that the Conservatives are maintaining their sizable lead over the governing Liberals.

The polling, conducted from Friday to Sunday, found that about three-quarters of respondents agreed the increase in immigrants is adding strain to both the housing market and health-care system.

Who would have thought bringing in more people than homes being built would eventually be a problem. Common sense is something politicians should inherently have before being voted in.

Immigration is making life in Canada intolerable.

The people have spoken. Stop this immigration nightmare.

What frustrates me is that people who have been sounding the alarm about this for years have been written off as racist. I love our cultural diversity but its not a hill that we should die on for moral righteousness while the people who are already here suffer.

It has done FAR more damage than just destroying the housing situation. Canada is unrecognizable, and is practically destroyed in every way imaginable.

Canada is gone too far, with so much immigrants. Let’s put them in Ottawa lots of space there.

Canada should take care of our own first before we think of ANY immigration.

I say this as an immigrant. The problem is there is no intigration. As an 'old' immigrant, when everyone spoke English, you forced yourself to learn. Now no one do that.

It is so heartening to know that 75% of Canadians know how to do basic Grade 2

My question, who are the 1 in 4 who don't realize this???

It's almost like 3 in 4 Canadians understand basic math, unlike the current Gov't.
More people and less houses = fewer homes/person.

It isn't just the housing market that is in crisis due to mass immigration, it is everything. Why pay 40% taxes when I can't even find a family doctor? Or have to wait 12 months for a simple medical operation? There is a reason skilled workers are leaving the country. Replacing doctors, dentists, financial experts with cab drivers, skip the dishes drivers, and fast food workers...what could go wrong.

As an immigrant, i think the high level of immigration is making life miserable for us and Canadians

If there’s more immigrants in your employment industry sector and you’re trying to find a job, how does that benefit you ? It only benefits the employers

I have a friend who is here on a student visa, and she said, "Canada allows too many immigrants." Isn't it obvious we need to hold our government accountable to make real change?

worst problem with housing is greedy landlords jacking up the rents due to covid and having no one to regulate it...people are trying to charge $1000/mth to park your van in their driveway and $1500/mth for a small bedroom with no windows...it's ridiculous that the government doesn't regulate rent. The cost of necessities like food and shelter and medicine should not be based on peoples greed but on the cost of producing them

The Canada I knew is long gone, we have an out of control government that is not working for the people and how to get out of this mess, we have to wait 2 more years this gives pretty socks time to really hurt the country

Simple solution. If a non-citizen has been unemployed for 6 months, send them home.

There are essentially two major problems when discussing this issue. First and foremost, it is VERY difficult for anyone to even attempt to bring up an intelligent argument because they are instantly branded a racist, so many people just keep quiet, which is not healthy in a democracy. Secondly, when examining the world as it is today, the inescapable fact is that the nations with a high standard of living and a truly democratic system simply cannot sustain the rest of the globe!! It's simply a numbers game, if we gradually permit the rest of the world to bring it's problems here, the outcome is predictable. I'm sorry but I feel that it's a terrible thing when I go out and almost ALWAYS notice that I am a minority. I don't care what your politics are, that is just wrong. And the aspect of that is most unfair? The countries where these people came from would NEVER allow that to happen. In fact, most often we are not welcome in those countries at all!
