I'm so glad I you are on YouTube. My Dad knew all this and I've read Biblical Archeological Review (BAR) - for some reason I never really let my Dad know I was even though he was a minister and a theologian and I was an engineer. I'm retired early at age 57 so I have much more time to research my interests. You are always on and unbiased. Listen to this guy!!! KUDOS

“And they made his grave with the wicked and with a rich man in his death, although he had done no violence, and there was no deceit in his mouth.”
‭‭Isaiah‬ ‭53‬:‭9‬ ‭ESV‬‬

Doesn’t it also say that Jesus was buried in a new tomb that had just been carved?

The tomb is at the Church of the Holy Sepulchre.

Brothers in Christ do not argue with the atheist or the blind. Leave it up to Jesus to guide these lost souls back to their roots.

Consider this:
And when Yoceph had taken the body, he wrapped it in a clean linen cloth, And laid it in his own new tomb, which he had hewn out in the rock: and he rolled a great stone to the door of the sepulchre, and departed. MATTITHYAHU (MATTHEW) 27:59-60 את CEPHER

I like your content It is factual and eye opening

How does this fit with the other aspects of the gosple narratives regarding the tomb, like the rolling away of the stone and the Roman guards and so on. It seems the narratives describe a more singular isolated tomb.

Identify his body? According to the story, his corpse was 3 days old. Do you think someone would confuse it with some other remains in the tomb?

I believe it’s also stated that Jesus was the first to be buried in that tomb.

Except the gospels specifically point out that Jesus was buried in a new tomb where no one had been buried. Mathew 27:60 says that Joseph laid the body in a new tomb which he had hewn out of the rock. Sure. The common tombs of the time are multi family ones, but the difference is specifically called out in the text.

The Bible says Joseph of Aramathea gave a personal tomb for Jesus, so it wasn't a typical family tomb.

John 19:41 says that no one else had been lain in the tomb.

Except that the New Testament account says it was a new tomb where “no man has been laid “.

I am curious; how did historical burial practices influence conceptions of afterlife in the Biblical traditions? I ask because the descriptions of "Sheol" in the Bible (chthonic, dark, dusty, place where the deceased inhabit) seem to draw upon characteristics of these family tombs.

It would look EXACTLY like the Talpiot Tomb 😎

It only matters that he came out of the tomb.

Jesus' tomb was exceptional - exceptionally fictitious 😮
