You have probably seen the benchmarks for the GTX 1080 TI FTW3 iCX from EVGA, but do you know the best overclock and fan profile settings? How about the hashrate?

thank you for letting me know 80% fan speed is pretty much dead on

to those who are thinking of getting this card know this - this is a duel mining card if there ever was one. the loss of eth is so little on duel mining your crazy if you don't do it. i have 4 and get 157 on etc and when i duel mine i get 139-40 etc/ sia 6000-6300 -dcri 135. yea like i said crazy if you dont, 5% loss on etc for a gain like that get me 3-4 dollars a day more depending on price.

I don't like the AIB partners adding the DVI port back, but this is the one I like if I was getting non-reference.

ok i have mine overclocked diff and i didn;t understand why until the end and u saw you where using msi afterburner. you can't use that with this card cause it only controls the first fan and the 2 others are set at stock try evga persision and i think you will see a higher clock at more stable temps. note i have 4 of these running for 3 months now and have done a lot of testing. now wish i got a diff 1080ti for mining cause of the fan issue.

Good informative vid. Still waiting for my Vega to get here but good to know how the other side performs. :) Cheers

Nice vid, I'm waiting for the GeForce 2000 series because Imma get the 2070 if my theory is correct it'll have the 1080Ti performance :D also waiting for Coffee Lake

I highly considered upgrading my ftw2 to ftw3 curious how much better cooling between the two.

They just released a Elite version with 12Gbps memory speed. But seems to be they just OCed the memory to what all 1080tis can do.

With regards to the clocks, as, frankly, I've probably had and tested more ftw3 cards gan any other consumer on the planet (lol that's probably not far off being true) I got a worse clock of 1500 after 2 mind of load (the one that cooked itself at stock but hit 2k before it overheated), the best allowed a 150mhz oc, but it boosted low so only hit 2070 ish, the average was around 80mhz pc allowing the cards to break 2k until they got above 60 degrees ish and started to throttle. The best card I got hit 2125MHz but had a fault with its memory, the 2 final cards, one in the original white and one in black as they ran out of white cards for RMA for the final card, one, the black one is happy to boost by around 100 MHz giving a clock of 2060 ish, while the other doesn't like going more thank 60 over stock, but boosts higher at base so ends up at around 2050, with them in sli I have them set for 2GHz, but will usually sit at 1974MHz due to throttling from heat, until they go under water very soon.

I’m staring to order parts for my 8700k/1080ti custom dual loop water cooled Pc build.

Help please!

Which 1080 ti gpu care is the best for custom overclocking on a custom water cooled setup? Looking for max ghz. I think max on a 1080ti is 2.2 MHz

Also, which z370 is the best for custom overclocking? Is it the ASUS ROG Maximus X Hero? I don’t care much for price to performance but I also do t want to pay for a MSI godlike since I’m not getting SLI. Thanks!

Are 8700k CPUs all the same? Or are ther variances like there are with the GPUs?

wut? my 1080Ti FTW3 runs STOCK at 1962MHz average in 3Dmark test. Didnt even try to OC it yet cause I got stuff running constantly on the machine still...

My 1080 ti memory stays at 5000mhz instead of 5500mhz while mining???

Just max out your power slider, and set a custom fan curve. Overclock done.

bottom line, its not worth overclocking something thats already overclocked. Max youre going to get is a whopping 5fps increase @4k. mine already hits 1999 heaven benchmark and i did nothing to it, sits at 1959 gaming. sits at 55-59c gaming, 63-66c benchmarking at 50-60% fan curve.
If you want to overclock, get the reference version and water cool it. theres no guarantee you'll hit these clocks though.
stop saying caveat, jeez, just say limit.

Did you try it on zcash? I'd be curious to find out what you got for that.

I have had major issues with the ftw3, I have gone through 7 of the elite version of the cards due to a dead fan, cooking themselves and faulty memory. Most trouble I've ever had with a GPU.

Hi man, cool video!

What about EVGA GEFORCE GTX 1080 TI FTW3 HYBRID GAMING 11GB it has water cooling, are those the same cards? are they produceing same amount on hashpower?

Mines sounds about the same at 80% when I do a benchmark .

+son of a tech have a look at Nvidia Inspector and run the mining software and it should tell you what pstate you are actually operating in. I know on luxmark and furmark, on a 1070 card does not run in p-state0 (the highest one games use and the pstate that afterburner primarily adjusts), it runs in p-state2 (from memory).

Using Nvidia Inspector, you can overclock the individual p-states and you may find that you can get a boost to the hashrate that way. The other option that you may want to look at is to use the voltage curve (CTRL-F in after burner) and adjust the .950v point or various other points on the curve and see if that gives you a boost in performance. On a 1070 the .950v point also adjusts the video clock as reported in hwinfo64 and boosting it does improve firestrike results.
