Wow. Even on a relatively flat mic like a U87, the vocal is super lush. The compression is really bringing out the consonants really well. Think about this channel hard now for vocals.

never though of combining the SSL six mixer with others... then this sounds frigging amazing and it's in a very managble price bracket... the new SSL range and cleverly given SSL sound at a much cheaper price... combine a few SIX mixers and get a bunch of six channels a fusion and a bus compressor and the violet eq and you've got a winner.... my added extra in that thought would be a spacecraft

Not sure what to listen to. I think that I have to play with it to get the feel. All I can say is that I realy enjoyed that sound of kick drum at the end.

This was a nice song and this sounds like a really good value for the money. I’m remarkably fearful of companies like SSL diving into the Everyman price point, we’ve seen what that did to focusrite (nothing good) but this pre sounds nice. Theres’s just a hair of unwanted pumping from the comp on the lead vox but that seems to be its Achilles heel according to all reviews so that makes sense. The end result has a tape feel to it instead of a highly digitized, overly sizzly high end ambiance that lesser pres have a tendency to illicit. That said It’s clear that a bass player was the one in control of the mix for this portion of the process, it’s really bass heavy with the drums as, at very best an afterthought sonically. But t’s a rough mix so even that’s acceptable. There’s a tremendous amount going on for $400. One last thing, and I know this is pedantic but it’s Moo 🐮 g, not a Mōag. ;)
