Talking about amps: Precision Power Power Class amplifiers Pt2

Another horrible attempt at shooting a video but I've re shot this enough that I'm over it. Sound gets quiet but all the information is there.

The lead engineer who designed these amplifiers from 1995 -1998 was an engineer for Krell before PPI in the late 80's and was the lead engineer for Krell after leaving PPI in 1998/1999. These are truely high end reference amplifiers the grey/chrome Power Class series where essentially Krell automotive amps have you noticed the similarities. Krell amps of the late 90's/2000's where dark grey PPI Power class the first series where dark grey not just a coincidence but the engineers signature. In an article about his career the engineer states he was designing high end amps while at PPI.

This amp will run at quarter ohm I've had mine so hot u cld fry eggs and cook a steak on it n it still hardly ever shut off. In my opinion these were the best amps ever made any of the charcoal grey power class series ive had probably 10- 15 over the years
they're almost indestructible

I had a PC450 (same era as yours) and out of all the amps I've owned, it sounded the cleanest. Mostly run active on a Soundstream Reference 6.5" component set.

Imo, these are the best amps ppi ever made. I have 2 black pc2350s and 1 15th anniversary chrome, plexi glass bottom and 1 pcx2400. I haven't measured for pure output yet but the pcx 2400 is not reallly any louder than the pc2350s. I'm currently rebuilding a pair of 2350dms. One black and one white. The dude is giving me one for fixing the other. I am replacing the smp70n06 mosfets with irf3205 mosfets, not really any more power but will handle the 2 ohm loads better. I love your vids it's awesome to find others like myself. Actually the first amp I ever bought was a 2150am in 1992 I was 17 and I ruled the world with that set up, or at least I thought I did..

I had my PPI PCX-2400 with the two 4 gauge power ports, pushing two 10” mtx-t9500 suv box rated at 2000rms in my escalade and one of the power terminals fried. I was using a 0 gauge Rockford Fosgate power wire on it. I later switched to 4 gauge and used the second power port and it worked but now I’m doing an old school build and would like to use the amp, is there any recommendations on who can solder a new terminal so I can use both 4 gauge ports. I have a pretty mean setup consisting of classic PPI and JL AUDIO and would really like to go HAM on all these new systems out here. Thanks in advance!!

i have a ppi 250 and a 450 that i have been hanging onto since 1997... About to put them in my landcruiser with my mb quart pro 6.5 seperates and boston pro 5.25 seperates with a pair of soundstreem reference tweeters an audio 2xs crossover and 2 orion 2ntense dvc 12's.

question: have you had these at 1 ohm? since im only using one sub with the 250, i can do 4 or 1 ohm. if im not mistaken..?

All pc class overheat n output card drops a mosfet onto a resistor and bam ur done ive got the plexi and the reg both pc2350. Both busted one card and power supply transistors smoked the other all power supply transistors fkn fried smh. AMPS WITH FKN FANS WILL BREAK 28 years in this n the story wont change. Personally orion xtr pro amps are king shit super clean and huge power no bs promise the 2500.1 fkn does 6krms lmao good day yall
