Dennis Ross & Alan Dershowitz with Ethan Bronner: The US-Israel Relationship

Bush administration, then as Bill Clinton’s Middle East Peace envoy, and then as a special assistant to the president under Barack Obama. His new book is Doomed to Succeed. Alan Dershowitz has been a consultant to several presidential commissions and has advised presidents, UN officials, prime ministers, governors, senators and members of Congress. Dershowitz is truly more intellectually superior than 95% of the people that he debates. However Dennis Ross does have Dershowitz deep respect and a bit of envy of his negotiation experience with world leaders. Dershowitz has been consulted here and there but Dennis Ross was right in middle of every Middle East meeting with leaders for 15 years. What a history.

As a progressive I grew up with Dershowitz as one of my heroes. Don't know why but his stance on Israel is almost exact opposite of things he would usually support.

The French are rarely correct but they are right on having international police force at the temple mount and other places in Israel. That way its fair non partial policing and checkpoint maintenance.

If Israel lacks the moral courage to crush their enemies so that their enemies can never attack again then Israel deserves whatever their enemies will do to Israel. That is real tough love. Nothing less than victory !
