Definitely the best video on Anim Curves on YT. Learned a bunch with that expression you had on the time scale and the ability to use keyframe stretcher as a modifier.

I would like to add that you can see the actual graph your anim curve is making to the parameter if you click the parameter in the spline page, just above where it says look up, and that can give people a better sense of what their animation is doing.

To address what you said is the bug at 11:24, I believe if you use the Clip High checkbox then the animation will stop at the highest value, giving the ideal result you were looking for on the linear curve.

inserting that keyframe stretcher was pretty cool

This is amazing. I was unaware of this feature. It's definitely a blessing for motion graphics work.

I think Fusion is way more powerful than After Effects, people just dont know the power yet. You are doing great job opening up this to people. Learning a lot from your channel. Thank you for all the hard work.

Anim Curves is one of the reasons I fell in love with fusion. In after effects I needed the Ease and Wizz script from aescripts on every install since AE never added the ease and wizz curves natively. But fusion, sure here you go! Built in.

Ah. Anim curves, my beloved. Really useful for re-using effects, thanks for the detailed tutorial. I have used the custom source to create a neat looking pop in and pop out effect for subtitles. Blew my mind when I figured it out. Anim Curves are awesome.

Wow. I can see so much potential here. Just need to find the time4 to apply it all. Thanks Patrick.

I've been wondering for the last few years what the hell clip high and clip low were for. I have never used them and can't tell what they are for. The mystery continues. Great video.

Thanks for this video. This helped put things into perspective and helped me finish up my long weekend of figuring out how to attach a zoom effect to a pop up text.
Have a great month of May!

Hi Patrick! I'm trying to make a simple titles pack with AnimCurves and I would defently like to see a second video were you go more in depth on this subject. For example what useful expressions do you use in the time scale or if there is another ways to make animations with offset but maintaining a regular speed considering the framerate of the comp.

I think would be amazing if you make a video creating a simple title from scratch using animcurves. Let say you have a line that grows in width, them text 1 appears with opacity and position, two frames later Text 2 appears and so on. The final result would be a title were you can modify it own speed and adapts to the composition length on any framerate.

Also I want to share this expression to you. I was playing with text and the follower modifier using animcurves., the problem with this is that sometimes the follower delay doesn't match well with the ending of the animcurves animation. Here's an expression that I made to counter that.

If you place it on the time scale of a animcurve this expression will take in count the delay you set on your follower modifier. Make sure you set your delay type to:
"Between Firts and Last Character".

Hope this can be useful to you in some scenarios. Btw Thanks for take the time to make this video if right now you're not planning to do another video about animcurves I would like to know what other resources you recommend to learn more about this subject or maybe make responsive titles in general.

You are a gift to humanity. This is so helpful on so many levels, thank you. I did have a question though that I can't seem to figure out.

I've noticed with some other people's templates, that after they animate something, they then have it continue to animate infinitely based off of the slope of the graph (i.e. it animates from 0 to 1, and then continues to grow linearly). Is there a setting within anim curves that tells a property to continue growing or shrinking based off of the slope of the spline?

YESSS OMG YESSS I'VE BEEN LOOKING FOR THIS
I wanted to make a simple text animation and was using the key stretcher
but the problem with the key stretcher is that all of those previous animations happen before the key stretcher is stretched too.
so all of the text, font, and colour of the text animation is gone

but with it and some simple expressions like (comp.RenderEnd / animationFrames) for start animation time scale and the same formula but for the time offset the formula is: ((comp.RenderEnd - animationFrames) / comp.RenderEnd) with CLIP LOW and CLIP HIGH
all of this headache is gone

sorry for my English btw

but the video is super useful!! thanks

As someone who does a lot of gaming content and editing it would be nice to see some stuff that can help us in our category that might be good for us as I’m still learning too
