MUST-DO DIY!!! No-Sew Fold Over Boot Covers!| w/ Orly Shani

IMPORTANT TIP - Test the fabric glue on your material first. Some faux leather might need e6000 instead.

Well, well, well. This is legit my top 5 favorite DIYs of all time and that's strictly because the final result is so epic! I anticipated the pattern for this to be so difficult. In order to make it fit at the calf, then tighter at the ankle then fit around the boot... it seemed so complicated. It took me 1 minute to figure out and better yet, ITS NO-SEW!!!
I will show you how you can sew in a lining, if you want to do that. But keep in mind, faux leather is fabric on the back side, so you dont really need to.
We will clean up that back seam with a decorative detail that not only strengthens the seam but looks profesh.
I am making 3 pairs of boots in this video so feel free to pick and choose what you like!

MATERIALS
1/2 yard of leather of your choice - I chose Faux

So happy to see you partnered with Factor. My husband and I have eaten their wonderful meals for two years. They are the yummiest!!! The Sundried tomato chicken with zucchini noodles is my favorite. Back to boots, I can’t believe how easy these are!! Amazballs

Omg. Creative overload. Rhinestones up the back? Yes. Pearls on white leather? Also yes. Steel tacks? Yup. Fringe? A big fat yes. Also, snap tape or Velcro could be used in a creative way as fasteners. What a cool way to give boots more versatility! Bravo!

I used to make similar for my son who is an actor and used to perform in Shakespeare plays. I will tell you a little secret.. whenever i would see old leather sofas thrown out, I would cut the leather from the back of the sofa.. no matter how old and run down the sofa was, the back of the sofa is always unused. Why throw out perfect leather!

This is great for ppl like my daughter who has wide calf’s and most boots don’t fit her calf’s so now I can make her a pr!
I’ve done this before yrs ago (literally in 1995) uuuggg shows my age 😂 but I as “leg warmers” I used an old sweater!
Growing up in Alaska we didn’t have store’s to get in style fashion & shipping was worse than now! so I had to be creative 😊 I seriously made my own clothes that’s why I love Orly! She’s like a younger me from the past bringing the future 😊💕 But also brings knee ideas as well
Love your Orly!

This is the diy I didn't know I needed🎉
You did that!!! I can't wait to make my red fold over boots. I'm thinking about dyeing some white ones than finding matching fabric. I. Can't. Wait.

Wow!!! Those fold-over boots are so cool! They are all so nice. I loved the white pair. Then I saw the olive-colored ones. They are amazing. The black pair look so good on you, too. You blow me away. You are so creative. I don't know how you come up with the patterns for each and every thing you re-create. You are amazing!

Great idea. I wear skirts and dresses almost year round, so boots are a must. But they're soooo expensive and also take up a lot of storage space.

Love these ! I’ve actually had this same idea for years. I’ve been collecting for years now all the fabric & even faux fur stockpiled in my sewing room. But I’ve just have never done.🤷🏼‍♀️. IT IS NOW TIME ❣️Thank you for your inspiration, information & encouragement. Been a huge fan of yours for years. Love U & all your encouraging vibes. Thank you ❣️❣️❣️

I've made these for costumes before (Three Musketeers) cheaper than buying boots, but didn't do all the detailing you did. Great job.

Yes yes yes. All of them look sleek and high end. My favs are the olive ones with the split. Adding the strip over the seam took it up a notch. Very nice. I'll be making these with a twist👍🏾

Why do I SO want to try this and make a slight DETAIL along the seam> I used to see people do something like this with old socks and have a leg warmer look but this is SO nice. Now you understand why I LOVE boots.

You sound like me. I'm bad about drinking my one cup of coffee, getting busy, starting to feel a bit queasy & and realizing it's 2 or 3 in the afternoon, and I haven't eaten since last night. Lol
Really cute idea. It's not something I could get away with wearing, considering I'm 64 years old, but something I could make for my 25 year old daughter. Lol
My mind was putting studs along the seams. Since studs can come in a variety of metal finishes as well as shapes like round, square, and star, there are so many possibilities. I was also thinking on the thinner fabric, as a sewist, that reinforcing piece on the side could be stitched down close on both edges. Thanks for sharing an easy change to ankle boots. ❤
