There is a big flaw in the methodology that causes ESET not to detect threats that are otherwise detected (aside from the fact that web access protection or ESET LiveGuard check is completely skipped). The problem is that real-time protection is paused when extracting the archive with malware to the disk. As a result, installers containing malware that would be otherwise detected will not be detected upon execution, causing the tool to report them as evaded detection although the actual malicious file from the archive was detected and cleaned when dropped to the disk. I've had time to check only two samples and both were exactly that case.

ESET has the same result as BitDefender it's just ESET isn't strict as BitDefender, at the end nothing was found either by Norton or HitmanPro.

1 file remaining (Bitdefender) vs 25 files remaining (ESET). Bitdefender's real-time protection is definitely better. ESET is teally good in terms of protection and has a better UI, but, Bitdefender still wins.

According to AV-comparatives results, Eset looks little bit better, in my opinion.. Because i attach importance to advanced threat scenarios in av-comparatives tests. And Eset is very succesfull in those tests, and looks little better than Bitdefender.. That's why i would prefer Eset among these 2 products because of this little difference... But as i always say, Bitdefender is top notch product, too.. Thanks for your nice tests.. :)

Do we really need to have the music playing? i use eset Ultimate, have done for years why? because it is the very best. You get what you pay for.

I love Eset Internet Security, it's my main antivirus, and I use it together with Malwarebytes, both running simultaneously, it's a perfect combination

ESET has much more granular configuration options, and is much lower on system resources than BitDefender. My personal choice would be ESET, configured with heuristics at the maximum level.
