I couldn't get beyond "Uncaught TypeError: is not a function" for => {}); Something with the promise syntax is incompatible with the current pdfjs I think. I did some more looking and Mozilla, who apparently created pdfjs, has a fully working demo you can take apart. It was last updated 10/2021.
