Patty Smith is an Icon. Her lyrics are so intense, full of longing, spirituality, passion. A very intelligent woman and a pioneer of female music at that time! Love her...

Oh Mea Culpa! Was instantly mesmerized by this opener for Daisy Jones and the Six series and thought this was original music. My God this is spectacular!!! Brilliant Patti Smith!! Untouchable by anyone else. Even the iconic Bono. Blown. Away. 😮

If you listen carefully you can hear everything that U2 to REM fell in love with and emulated in the eighties....you can actually hear the eighties music being born in this song..it's AMAZING

I am fan of Patti Smith and I am Greek and twelve years old.

Listen to how Todd Rundgren (on bass) changes the bass riff at 3:22 and the whole feel of the song becomes more dramatic and powerful as a result...it's genius!!

Nobody sings this like Patti. Her voice breaks my heart every single time.

Song for my funeral.
Daisy Jones & The Six did not bring me here, but I'm delighted it brought so many to this wig out piece of finery.

This song is timeless and you can hear how so many other bands and artists emulated the great Patti Smith. What an incredible woman!

This song really sends me...It is mysterious and potent. It is like some kind of force, like a tornado or an
electrical storm...It is seductive and a little dangerous...It is beautiful and raw at the same time...It takes
me to a place where there are many phantoms that appear and then disappear...I can catch a brief glimpse
but then there is just an icy fog...Everything is chaotic but still

One of the best songs ever written. It still sounds fresh!

She is benediction
She is addicted to thee
She is the root connection
She is connecting with he
Here I go and I don't know why
I fell so ceaselessly
Could it be he's taking over me
I'm dancing barefoot
Heading for a spin
Some strange music draws me in
Makes me come on like some heroine
She is sublimation
She is the essence of thee
She is concentrating on he
Chosen by she
Here I go and I don't know why
I spin so ceaselessly
Could it be he's taking over me
I'm dancing barefoot
Heading for a spin
Some strange music draws me in
Makes me come on like some heroine
She is re-creation
She, intoxicated by Thee
She has the slow sensation that
He is levitating with she
Here I go and I don't know why
I spin so ceaselessly
Till I lose my sense of gravity
I'm dancing barefoot
Heading for a spin
Some strange music draws me in
Makes me come on like some heroine
Oh God, I fell for You
The plot of our life sweats in the dark like a face
The mystery of childbirth, of childhood itself
Grave visitations
What is it that calls to us?
Why must we pray screaming?
Why must not death be redefined?
We shut our eyes, we stretch out our arms
And whirl on a pane of glass
An afixiation, a fix on anything
The line of life, the limb of a tree
The hands of he and the promise that she
Is blessed among women
Oh God, I fell for You
Oh God, I fell for You
Oh God, I fell for You

I love this song, first time I heard it was in the intro of Daisy Jones and The Six. It's now on my permanent playlist.

It is Patti's world and we live in it. Goddess forever. So happy I discovered her music when I was a young teen and it could be part of my whole life's soundtrack.
