Street artist Leon Keer paints mind-blowing perspectives on the streets of cities all around the world.

In this video we met Keer to discuss his work and learn how he creates such awesome street art.

“I work on anamorphic paintings,” says Keer. “Anamorphic is a kind of technique, which you can use from one-point perspective. So in my work I always try to build up some contrast.”

Keer paints a wide range of subjects that tackle important societal issues. In Canada, he created a piece of art called the ‘Geological conflict’, which featured a large Monopoly board. Instead of the names of the streets that we are familiar with, Keer replaced them with the names of Native American tribes. In the centre of the board is a depiction of how these tribes are being monopolised by big oil companies.

So, how does he do it? It’s a technique that takes practice. “The most important thing is that all the vertical lines in your sketch have to go to one point on the street.”

"That my work is temporary, for me it strengthens its existence because you have to be there. You have to be on the spot to witness it."

Do you like Keer’s art? What would you like to see him depict next? We'd love to hear your thoughts in the comments below.

Share if you agree that the world needs more art.

Amazing artwork, the narrative and topics are at the same label than the technique. Smart at beautiful work.
