Be honest have you ever skipped a prologue?

I try to avoid doing it, but I can understand why so many readers do. Too many prologue’s are written as info dumps in disguise, and are genuinely hard to read without investment into the story. Because this, I try to avoid writing prologue’s unless I have a specific part of my book that needs to be in a different voice or some sort of document that kicks off the action. In these cases a prologue is a great tool. If your book has a lot of backstory or information the reader needs to know try to sprinkle it into the world building or dialogue instead of forcing it into a prologue.
