interesting to note that the guy who ran sunset corp, Daniel Lopatin, also wrote the soundtracks to Uncut Gems and Good Time, as well as collaborated with The Weeknd on his most recent album. Really interesting to see that such a small, obscure youtube channel belongs to such a big name

The Japanese above Vaporwave means “This is a sample text” 😅

Vaporwave was created to make nostalgia for the 80s, but now I'm just nostalgic for the peak of its popularity. I remember I even made a few vaporwave tracks lost to time and I was a kid. It was such a good era for underground internet electronic music. Saint Pepsi is one that always comes to mind.

The rainbow road in ‘Nobody Here’ is from an extremely rare Taito game called Laser Grand Prix. The game is lost media, and the only things that exist is part of the laserdisc that the footage it uses for the background and some screenshots.

Anything that sounds like it's from the past, present or future isn't dead. It's timeless

Vaporwave, even if it is "dead", it will always be one of my favorite music genre's

Edit:I didn't realize after 2 years of this video being released it would still get comments. It was a joke I had in mind as i wanted to see how people would think. It's more than vaporwave that's still big and amazing, its a genre that is perfect.

So that explains why I had "nobody here" suddenly getting in my recomenditions

There's some Boards Of Canada fan videos from the mid-2000s (notably a 2006 one for Roygbiv that I recall) which are pretty vaporwavey, using altered 80s commercials and stuff. Boards Of Canada's whole gig was the feeling of nostalgia as well, but for around the 60s/70s mostly, since they made their first releases in the 90s.

Came here right after I just got Nobody Here recommended to me for the second time on YT.

Pretty fascinating though. Definitely ahead of their time, that's for sure. Finally understand the context of the channel. Good stuff.

I’ve never been too into vapor wave, but I can always appreciate the idea that for some things we can always go back and find the origin to. Really neat.

Nice video Cap KRB!
Oh yeah! Sunsetcorp and waterfallvoyeur channels! Awesome birthplaces of the early vaporwave visual style.
Inspired me in December 2012 after The Needle Drop's review of a Mac Plus album to change the direction of my channel into vaporwave section slightly from electronic music videos i did earlier after Boards of Canada inspirations. Still making music videos through the time and so happy to see how this uniq subganre grows with a time. People loved such concept and build with this a huge fandom. Thanks Daniel, Ramona and James Ferraro for their participation into this ideology for all of the vaporwave fans over the world like us! :D

Lol, Vaporwave... A neon/pastel colored fever dreamlike nostalgia that was never alive. It inspired me to make music, and still holds some liminal place in my heart, playing synth laden tracks somewhere in the distance. I loved this vid man. Really cool channel.

im sad you didnt go into more detail regarding the End of Life Entertainment Scenario. The glitchy horror visual are genuinely fascinating, im always curious to hear what other's takes are on it

I love when my recommendation page actually gives me quality content. Usually only does that when I have somewhere to go.
