Trump administration mass layoffs can continue, judge rules

A judge allowed the Department of Government Efficiency's federal workforce cuts to continue on Friday. Probationary workers and IRS staff are on the chopping block as the Defense Department temporarily pauses efforts to fire civilian employees to review the impact on U.S. military readiness. Consider who his layoffs mostly affected, the same kids impacted by the pandemic ruining their college experience who now are taking the brunt of these indiscriminate layoffs because they just started their promising careers to give back to their community and country working low paying federal jobs. If his goal is to make America great again he has missed the point. Working everyday Americans is the goal. That what makes America great. Making billionaires richer is a fool’s goal.

As a business efficiency expert, I can say from experience, these mass firings are haphazard and without thought. Just looking at a pie chart of labor costs and hacking away at a number is actually detrimental to any business. You have to immerse yourself into it to determine where to make cost cuts with labor, processes, systems and inventory. This is just scatterbrained, which unfortunately is often the lazy culture of corporate America, many times tied to upper management bonuses.
