The Pinto is, probably hands down, the single most underrated and overly criticized car in all of automotive history

The Pinto had rack and pinion steering, the German made motor was bulletproof. Got good fuel economy and easy to.repair.

The Pinto was a huge step up from the VW's of the time.

The Pinto was awesome. My dad had one, it was listed on Marketplace last year. It's still driving! He sold it in 78'. LOL

Pintos are awesome. My first car was a ‘74 Pinto… with a small block Ford V8, a C4 auto with a shift kit, and an 8” rear diff with a LSD…

I drove a 72 pinto when I was 18 in 1982. Drove it 200 miles to get married in Alabama because my girlfriend was under 18 and not pregnant 😂. Man, sometimes I wish it would have broken down before we got there 😭. 15$ in gas and 4 quarts of oil and we were home. 42 yrs later were still here but the pinto is gone.

I loved my 1972 Ford Pinto Hatchback. My 2007 Mitsubishi Eclipse was the ultimate Pinto.

The Pinto may be famous for exploding if punched in the back, but it was a very good domestic supermini in its day. And I have a soft spot for the car as my mother had a 79 in powder blue. It needed tlc but it was a decently handsome car.

The Pinto got a bad reputation over the exploding gas tank issue. It was not a bad car for what it was.

Of course .... Being a GM guy, I'd rather have a Vega.

I wish Pinto had been produced earlier, maybe in 1968. Maybe GM would have got the Vega mptor right, who knows, maybe improved the 153 Chevy 2 four cylinder - which remains in production as an industrial 3 liter.

Imagine the wry jokes if the audience knew he was aiding and supporting nazis during ww2.
