We're big fans of a good hot caffeinated beverage here at TRY, so of course after receiving a selection of Community Coffee flavours from a kind viewer, we couldn't resist! We sat down our resident Irish People to see what they made of these unique coffees.

My mother’s people are Cajuns. Dad’s family is of Irish descent.
Anyway, I grew up drinking Community Coffee, Dark Roast just about my whole life with the Cajun side of my family.
Most of the people I knew growing up always had a pot or would put on a pot for you when you came to visit. Shoot, even babies were given ‘coffee milk’ bottles. These bottles had a shot of coffee (again, Community Dark Roast) with the rest of the bottle filled with milk or formula.
Even my own child.
My Irish, California-raised father was appalled. When he started to fuss, he got the stink eye.

Eadaoin is correct: There is a specific cake for Mardi Gras. Oddly enough, the same cake is common in Germany, so you might be able to get some to try without it going stale in the post.

OK, here's the key to using a French Press and keeping the coffee HOT once it gets to the cup. There's always extra water when you boil it for the coffee, pour that extra freshly boiled water into the coffee cup while you're waiting the 4 to 5 minutes for the coffee to brew in the French Press. Once the coffee is brewed pour the boiled water out of the cup and pour the coffee into the cup while the cup is still hot. Priming the cup with the boiled water keeps your coffee hotter for longer.

Pouring the hot coffee into a cold cup is a bad idea.

I'm a Texan and have been drinking Community all my adult life. I order the beans by the case from Louisiana--it's worth it. If you stop at Louisiana tourist rest stops they serve free Community coffee.

What makes Community Coffee so good is you have so many different roast and flavors to choose from. Cant go wrong with the dark roast or Cafe Special for daily coffee drinking. Those special flavors are for occasional drinking.
