Canada's MOST Beautiful Hike - The West Coast Trail

The West Coast Trail is regarded as one of the most beautiful hikes in the world. Hikers and Backpackers from around the world come to hike Canada's Iconic West Coast Trail every year. The West Coast Trail is a 75KM Hike that follows the West Coast Line of Vancouver Island. The West Coast Trail dips on and off the beach, up and down ladders and across cable cars. Although the West Coast Trail isn't an "easy" hike, it's a MUST DO!

5 trip veteran here (2000 - 2004). Always on the trail in 1st week of August. 31 days on the trail, and only 1 afternoon - evening of drizzling rain. One entire trip without a cloud in the sky. Never had a reservation. In those days 26 hikers were allowed at each end per day, of which 6 were allotted for walkups like me. On 3 occasions, walked up and started same day; on the other 2 trips, we started next day. Moniques was open for some amazing burgers, while the crab shack at the Nitinat was mostly for takeaway with just a couple of tables for dine in. Camped at almost every beach except Cullite, Logan Bonilla. Difficult to express how much i love this trail.
