Say what you will, but Cherone DID have the pipes to pull this off..

I saw Gary with Extreme in March of 95. The guy doesn’t run out of breath he was holding notes running around. Very underrated lead singer.

I think Gary was right. He said if they had toured first around the DLR/Hagar catalogue and then went and did the studio album that the Cherone version of VH would have turned out differently and been longer lasting. Gary was really good and was able to do the entire VH catalogue versus just Dave or just Sammy (with a little Dave sprinkled in).

Gary rules here! He's voice is good and moves works too. Dont really know why people dont like him? Very talented singer and frontman. Too bad they didnt make any good new songs with gary.

People give Cherone a lot of grief but not only does the guy sing really well, I love his energy and his moves. And obviously there are a ton of people in the crowd so they must love it too.

Ed's tone is so good on this tour

Live with VH, Gary killed it. In the studio they killed him....

Saw them live with David. They were bloody good. R.I.P Eddie. I've still got the VH3 Cd you signed. Thank you.

Coming back in to this subject about Gary. More years go by the more people realize how good fit he really was! Like Gary said afterwards "Only regret i have is i wish we could have made the record after the tour" That's the thing which really makes all the sense. Gary joined the band and they went to the studio right away... The actual tour was great and they really started to shine together in middle of that. Huge shame that they fired Gary and i believe other members know it too.

Oh my - Eddie and Mikey! Some groovy background vocals

It's also worth keeping in mind that this was two or three shows into the tour, Gary's first time singing a lot of these songs in a live setting. Even for professional musicians, it can take a while to find your groove in a new gig.

Gary is a bit goofy but he has the range to do both Roth and Hagar songs.

Never knew a Half-life 2 NPC sung for Van Halen
In all honesty though, Gary is a great front man and deserves respect. He absolutely smashed this tour. The best parts about Sammy and Dave combined into one package.
