I love the fact that Neverland could also be said as "Never land", like you always fly over it but you never actually land somewhere, so it could either mean that it never gets serious, or that you never really settle down, or find a place where you actually want to stay and a situation that you like and that is healthy, like you never get a status in your relationship that makes it stable, healthy and lasting ...
Like it could be a sign that the relationship seems fun because you're always flying, but like any good bird or plane, you need to land someday, and if you don't, then it's just going nowhere and you can't grow up because you're not attached to anything and you can't create any roots where you go
It actually keeps you from growing up and becoming more mature

the melody is so beautiful on its own, and then you begin to understand the lyrics. leaving a relationship because it's holding you back is the most difficult thing, and yet it's such an incredible and beautiful feeling. maisie perfectly encapsulated those feelings through Wendy's story, and gave the people who cannot stand up and leave a voice and a way to do so. I think it is just the most perfect and delicate thing 🤍
