This video is not sponsored. I have a standard account with Revolut and Wise for about a year now and they have traveled to several countries with me. In fact, I never travel without these them. Now I think I am in a good position to give you a review and my honest opinion about Revolut and Wise (formerly known as Transferwise). Do I think Revolut or Wise is the better choice? Do I have a favorite? Are they really a good way to save money while traveling? Find out in this video :)

Do you want to get „Postcards from Maggi“?
I recently started my newsletter where I share some updates and behind the scenes stuff… I think it is a nice way to stay connected outside of YouTube. It‘s published every first Sunday of the month (which I believe is more than enough… 😂 I‘m not that interesting and less is more).
Make me happy and sign up here: maggifuchs.kit.com/signup

Good summary. I also have both, although I don't have a physical Revolut card. The big advantage I see with Wise is I can receive income in various currencies and convert it to Euro relatively cheaply. Revolut is very widely used in my country so is excellent for sharing bill and transferring money to friends and some small businesses too. I intent to keep both also

I have both and travel a lot as a digital nomad, but generally prefer Wise, just simpler to use, completely transparent, card payments are always reliable and does not try to do too much. Revolut is bit of a jack of all trades but not the best at any, if I want to invest there are better companies, same with crypto. Neither are actually banks so do not put a lot of money in them.

Created a wise account with a digital and physical card and I'm so so happy with how it works. Highly recommend!

My husband and me have both a wise account and are happy with the speed of exchanging money and paying bills or services with in no time. Revolut sounds also interesting.

On revolut, you can prevent the weekend fees by add a currency and money there during the week.

Revolut is prepaid and wise is debit card. That also might be issue sometimes. For example I can’t pay Italian highway toll with prepaid card.

Hands down the best review/comparison of these two great services!
I use both, but only have a Revolut card, and I'm generally more inclined to Revolut because of the wider range of services.
Still, a big fan of Wise too. 🙂
Nice video

Good work summarizing both of them, just 2 things to correct

1 = You can charge your wise balance with your bank's card the same way as revolut, in both cases you might be asked to confirm transaction using 3ds from your austrian bank, otherwise no big differences

2 = in wise you also have vaults, they are called jars

i 100% agree with your advice about using both, while keeping your old regular card, and so far i also havent found the perfect debit card provider, cause each has his pros/cons

As of the end of August, Revolut in the USA appears to be adding fees for debit and credit card transfers, ranging from 1-3% Achtung! 😮

I just got back from Thailand and was using both. Had an incident where the atm rebooted during a wise withdrawal. Money was debited from my account, but no money dispensed. Rang wise and after some paperwork, they submitted a charge back to visa. Took 30 days, but I got the money refunded including all the fees. I thought my money was gone, but thankfully it was resolved. Took 30 days. Wise was very helpful. So I'm pretty thankful.
