The Children of Israel have the rather embarrassing and unpleasant legacy of
having been notorious in their disobedience to the instructions of Yah Yahwah and His Anointed over their generations. We were “sinful,” “wicked,” “backsliding,” “hardheaded,” “stiffnecked,” “rebellious” and “evil,” among the biblical descriptions.
The following story, drawn from the biblical record of 2 Chronicles, follows the challenge that Judah faced when the Southern Kingdom came under attack from a threefold alliance of the Moabites, Ammonites and Edomites. Our story opens with Yehoshaphat calling together the entire congregation of Judah and Jerusalem for fasting and prayer prior to engaging in battle.
Thus did Judah manage to emerge victorious in battle, and to reap a material blessing that required three days to collect. Afterwards, albeit for a very short time, it is written that “the realm of Yehoshaphat was quiet; for Yah gave him rest round about”. Unfortunately, Yisrael continued in their cycle of backsliding and disobedience, leading to the further disintegration of the nation and our eventual exile into the Lands of the Great Captivity.
However, the story stands as a testimony that if we remain aligned with Toraht Ben Ammi, Yahwah’s Anointed, we too will achieve all of the promised blessings, even against all odds. We have been promised the ultimate victory, even that of physical immortality. May our humble production serve to illuminate the pathway to that victory, even as we face another threefold alliance of intimidating and potentially overwhelming enemies: the global climate crisis, the threat of COVID and other plagues, and the rise of unprecedented violence. Let us make such blessings the necessary consequence.
NehalelYah! NehalelYah! NehalelYah!
Yah Khai! Yah Khai! Yah Khai!
Thank -you so very much to the awesome Youth On the Move for this
