To really dial your coffee in or up your game making espressos, you NEED a bottomless portafilter. If you have a Rancilio Silvia, you're likely looking at this as an upgrade. But questions remain on if it could fit the original filter baskets or how it compares. This video will show you all of that.

Don’t beat around the bush, beat the bush!
I enjoy a good discussion but I like getting to the point even more.

The new machines come with that cheaper handle stock even on the classic Portafilter

I bought a second hand silvia with both of these included. So far I got along well with the bottomless and the three-shot basket. I would much rather use the double-spouted one though, because I usually only drink one espresso at a time and it is really tedious to guess how much half of an espresso is to pour into another cup. Problem is: I cant seem to get a good tamp on the double-shot basket and/or seem to have to fill it with very little coffee so as not to touch the shower screen when extracting. What am I doing wrong?

Does this work with the Breville machine you reviewed earlier?
