Despite the State's Board of Education's decision to rescind the mask mandate for schools, Baltimore County schools have decided to keep the masks for now. Baltimore County Public Schools will keep their mask mandate until the COVID-19 rate goes down to moderate levels for 14 consecutive days. According to the BCPS covid data dashboard, the most recent reporting period from Feb 4th to 11th, shows "substantial" levels of transmission with 261 cases. Amy Adams with the Coalition of Maryland Parents told C4 and Dan Joseph this morning Maryland is the odd one out. "I think they forget 46 other states in America are mask optional. I don't know why our public school students are a different class of kids." Howard, Anne Arundel and Carrol Counties have all voted to end the mask mandate.
