Thanks for confirming they don't work to retrieve activity logs. I gave up a couple months ago. I do have a python script hooked this way which sends notifications if a dataset or dataflow didn't refresh by the time it was expected to.

good video, was glad he didn't leave out lack of support for the Admin APIs...have been 'making it work' in terms of admin automation scripts via user account creds for quite a while

Nice video! Our team is using managed identities instead for added security, and I'm running my final powershell script from Azure Automaton (I use my work creds when testing). We're trying to augment refresh schedules, retries on failure, and logging refresh data using powershell since it basically simplifies interactions with MS products.

Also ran into the limitation of not being able to call the Admin API using a service principal. Just using user credentials for now. Hopefully that comes in the future!

Thanks. For a dataset connecting to dataflows, publishing to power bi service using service principal and power shell is straight forward but once published how to do Oauth2 authentication to power BI with service principal in datasource setting of dataset? Gateway will be switched off as dataflow is cloud datasource. Any ideas? Perhaps using update datasource api?

We have done everything as it is, however when we rendered the paginated report, it ask for a separate sign-in. Since I have a Pro license, I can login and see the report, but our external user doesnt have pro license. are we missing something here? Please help.
