Two monks walking along a stream encounter an old woman unable to cross.  She begs them to help, so one carries her on his back to the far side. Once across and on the bank the old woman berates the monks for getting her dress wet, for taking too long to cross, for making it difficult and dangerous. She doesn't thank them. She goes her way.
