I’m not worried because I feel I’m prepared. I had to do that for my sanity. The worry of not being able to get what my family needs was just too much to stress over so I started preparing for it. I then moved my focus to other things. The past 3 yrs I’ve planted fruit trees and bushes, got a garden set up, large compost areas, seeds. I did fill some freezers with different meats and put them in small portions incase I had to cook with less meat and I’m happy I did because I’m now cooking with less. We can only do the best that we can and make adjustments where possible. Tennessee

I was telling my husband that staying within our $100 per person, per month, budget has pretty much become impossible for us. Costs are just rising too much and a few dollars here, 50 cents there adds up fast when it's almost everything you buy! God is so good though and we'll get through it!! Thank you for sharing these videos, they are so interesting to me! Have a wonderful day, Kimmy!

I’m old, and I’ve seen periods of inflation like this a couple times in my life. It comes and goes. We have been fortunate that the rate of inflation has been this low for this long. But then again, people were making less. It only stands to reason that as people demanded arises in minimum wage, prices would go up. Most people at the time said they were willing to pay more for higher wages, so here we r, among other reasons like a pandemic, which did not happen in any of our lives before. The difference I see now is that people are complaining, but they r paying it. One of the mgrs at my Walmart said they r buying carts full as fast as he puts it out. As long as people pay, the prices will stay this way. Once people cut back, stop buying so much etc it just becomes supply and demand. People shouldn’t be buying massive amounts for their stockpiles while prices r up. This is the time you did all that stocking up for. As soon as these outer reasons stabilize prices will stabilize or go down if people do the wise things.
I’m personally shopping at my Sams a lot here in Missouri. I haven’t seen prices going up a lot there. Milk is $3 a gal., produce is still very low. My store is stocked really well. One week I went and they had no chicken, but people were buying it by the cart load literally. The next week there was a limit, and they were stocked. The butcher said the limits weren’t for shortages, but to stop the idiots that were panic buying. We r the consumers. We ultimately control this. Stay calm cut back and we’ll get the result we want. I’ve been here before, and back then I had a family of 5 to feed.

*Canadian here* 🇨🇦
As moms, worrying is one of our many skills… but it’s exhausting! I’m trying to let go of the fear & worry that the last 2 years has brought on.
In the grocery store, I’m still buying what we need - but we are making more of an effort to not waste food. We’re trying to stretch things as far as we can. 🙌🏼💜

I noticed the canned chicken prices this week too! I used to get the 6 pack you showed for the $9.88 in Indiana. This week it was the same 6 pack for $15.98!

Loved this video! As a frequent Sam’s Club shopper, I have noticed the prices jump significantly on certain items. I couldn’t believe the butter. Another thing I noticed a huge jump was frozen chicken wings. Last year they were $16.98 and now they’re $33! Doubled in price! My mouth dropped to the floor. One thing I noticed in the video was I saw an increase in things that were packaged in variety pack, for example the canned chicken. I believe we’re paying an increase for the packaging on certain things. And it’s only going to get worse! Ugh!

Almost everything I buy at sams has increased—most of which has been a significant increase. Walmart is even worse! We have had to double our grocery budget and skip out on many of our usual items. We’ve had to get creative.

I'm in Louisiana. The 6 pack of canned chicken breast was purchased by me on july 26, 2021. It was $9.98. It is now $15.98. I purchased the flex trash bags you showed, late last year at $14.98. They are now $17.48. One major price change I saw was on the 40#bag of bird seed. On August 19, 2021, it was $18.98. It is now $26.98. Coffee has gone up as has the beef substantially. So many items have jumped drastically. 😳

I’m in NY and the prices here on literally EVERYTHING is insane. Were currently in the process of building my family’s dream home and the price quote on our lumber alone just jumped up an extra $20, 000 within the last 2 months alone 😥

Inflation has hit everything. The ones who need to worry the most are the ones with a very tight budget, others will manage. All we can do is hang on and do our best to make it through.

The news said the price of chicken will skyrocket and we already can’t get chicken breast where I live. You have to run to the store early. And the quality went down quite a bit. A lot more cleaning needed. It’s important to stock up and now we’re expecting more snow so the stores are going to be CRAZY. today. Yesterday before the world news came out the stores were packed with the storm.

I'm in Grand Junction, CO. I'm seeing very similar prices to what you have Kimmie. Are we planting gardens this year to help with the rising costs??? I think I'm gonna be learning to grow some of my produce this year.

Store brand gallon of whole white milk is $4.38 in Northeastern Pennsylvania. The big bag of oranges like you showed was $11 when I was at Sam's club last month! I always buy the 60 count of eggs from Walmart ( in the box). At the end of January they were about $5. Last week they were over $9

Here in Oregon, I'm still able to stay well within my $200-300 budget for the month, but it has definitely gone up since last year. I've been putting in a lot more work into researching the prices for my local grocery stores before I go stock up so I can get the best deals from each store.

Without any discounted/sale prices milk averages about $1 more than last year, eggs have doubled, chicken (when available) is roughly $1-3 more, we don't even bother with beef anymore, other than those 10 pound packages of ground beef, since I can find that for a decent price. Some of the produce, like onions and potatoes, have gone up a bit, but it's not too bad so far. Thankfully I found that butter and the coffee brand I buy have remained the same for a few years.
