Aziza and Batajileta moved to the UK to escape violence in the Democratic Republic of the Congo in 2007.
The pair weren’t able to bring Aziza’s two sons from her previous marriage with them as their father did not give his permission.
Several years later Aziza’s ex-husband sadly passed away and her sons were left without anyone to care for them.

With the help of the British Red Cross family reunification service Patient and Yanike reunited with their mother and stepfather after 11 years apart.

The Red Cross helps reunite hundreds of families every year.
