Today, Google unveiled the Search Generative Experience (SGE) as part of the new experimental Search Labs platform. Users can sign up to test new projects and SGE is one of three available at launch.

This looks like a good application, but I don't like that they've folded it into search. I still want to be able to just search, without necessarily entering a conversation or having the results interpreted for me.

As a blogger who has been killing himself for the past four years to grow my EEAT and provide exceptional content that matches the quality rater guidelines, I can't help but question the value here. So a larger "featured snippet" and a different organization of content with a few cards and then some links to buy products? I like the current results better. Search has always been about fewer curated options. There is nothing revolutionary here; it is a worse user experience, not a better one. I will never ask Google to create a quiz for me. Ever. If this is the future of search, I am sad.

It's been really interesting to be a part of the SGE Beta. Lots of varying results, especially from highly technical questions.

Just changed the name this year and now we cannot even ask follow-up questions, this is what progress means for Google.

Will this be able to be used along side as a option for searching or will this take traditional searching out of play because this is two different things here
