Another awesome and solid release by Hermanos Gutierrez. "Sonido Cósmico", which was released on June 14th, 2024 on Easy Eye Sound, and produced by Dan Auerbach of The Black Keys.

Overall, this album continues the trajectory of HG, whilst venturing into new sound territory, without taking away from the HG sound we have all come to love.

Track Listing:
1. Lágrimas Negras
2. Low Sun
3. Cumbia Lunar
4. Abuelita
5. El Fantastma
6. It’s All In Your Mind
7. Sonido Cósmico
8. Barrio Hustle
9. Until We Meet Again
10. Los Navegantes
11. Luz Y Sombra

It's a great album!
They kept the essence while adding a few more layers to their traditional 2-guitar setups. Percussion, extra guitar lines and ornaments... Very tastefully done.
One of the main things I'd highlight is the introduction of the wah-wah pedal to Estevan's lead tracks, which is a nice touch. I saw them the other day at their gig at Rough trade (London) and he played Thunderbird with the wah on, which was magical (You can check out the full set on YouTube).
My biggest complaint is that with the addition of new instruments and ornaments to the album versions, their live versions feel like they're lacking something, but it's normal when working with Dan Auerbach as a producer: he's obviously going to "produce".
He already did the same with The Black Keys over the years.
