I actually have to thank Kesha (one of my favorite singers) for selling this song to SMTown which made me discover SNSD, now one of my favorite bands. So thank you. Both versions are amazing.

Woah, Kesha's fans, chill. SM Entertainment didn't plagarize Kesha's song, nor did Girls' Generation. SM bought the song from Kesha for Girls' Generation to perform, and Kesha agreed on it, since SM paid a big amount on it. Stop accusing Girls' Generation for plagarizing her song. Ask Kesha herself, or ask Girls' Generation. They'll tell you that nobody plagarized, but instead they bought the song. Chill. We know Kesha wrote the song, but Girls' Generation bought it. Atleast GG paid for it, and explained to the media that they bought it and credited it to Kesha, unlike some artists out there.

Background:

'Run Devil Run' was written by American song writers, Alex James and Busbee, with Swedish songwriter Kalle Engstrom. Executives at Universal Music Group sold the right of the song to S.M Entertainment, after which Korean songwriter Hong Ji-yoo was brought on to translate and re-arrange the English version of the song into Korean, while American singer, Kesha recorded the "guide" version of the song for the group (Girls' Generation). The song has been noted to use the 'schaffel' beat, described as the rarest of rhythmical species in Japan.

In 2008, American singer Kesha recorded a demo of the song. Later, the song was pitched to Girls' Generation and Kesha's version was never released. In 2011, Girls' Generation recorded a Japanese version of "Run Devil Run", which was released as a double A-side with "Mr. Taxi".

From the Wiki. Hope this helps clear up things. Even if only alittle.

this song is such a masterpiece. it’s too bad kesha didn’t keep this one; it could have been huge! at least the whole thing has leaked.

It's so weird hearing this in English after getting used to the Korean version XD. It's like "oh yeah, I speak English, jk."

This song was when I realized that Kesha is actually a talented singer without AutoTune, and she only makes super trashy pop music and auto tunes her voice because she knows that's what sells. Fucking genius.

All I can think of now is Tom Nook and Redd I’m losing my mind

If you like SNSD's version better, FINE.
If you like Ke$ha's version better, FINE.
If you like both/neither, FINE.
I think this argument needs to stop. This song has been released for about 4 years already. If you like this version then don't comment on Ke$ha's version about how you like SNSD's better. If you like Ke$ha's then dont comment on here about how you like Ke$ha's version. If you don't like it, then go watch a different video. It's really not that hard.

So you Ke$ha and S<3NE fans could just basically drop it already. And just enjoy the music -_-"

GUYS! Both versions are good as they are both great singers in the music industry!

Personally, I think it's really cool how there is an english, korean(?) and japanese version of the song so we can all appreciate how good the composers of the song were and learn new languages/listen to new genres of music

I atcually never knew that Ke$ha made this song first and GG did a Korean vers. of it. Personally I like both versions, but I think that if I knew Korean and knew what the GG lyrics meant, then maybe I'd be able to properly compare songs.

I love this song, but every time I hear it, images of Tom Nook X Redd fan art from Tik Tok flash through my mind.
Edit: Happy 1 year anniversary of this stupid comment that somehow got 1k likes

This version sounds really nice, love that GG bought the song and that Kesha gave it to them, if not I would have never found out about the group. 💜
Love to both parties.
