A herb can be any plant with a useful property , such as a source of dye, medicine or insect repellent in addition to herbs for cooking and making tea.
The use of herbs in medicine and cooking dates back over 4000 years with records from Babylon showing the use of medicinal herbs.
No herb garden is complete without a couple of different mints, we have both spearmint and chocolate mint.
Both are excellent for making tea and summer salads.
Thyme has many different varieties and varied coloured flowers. We have a number of different plants throughout the garden for use in cooking.
They are also an excellent plant in the garden providing year round cover and scents.
Rosemary is one of the essential culinary herbs.
