Sadly this is another college killing. Mindy Morgenstern was in her final year of college, she was excited about graduating and starting a career as a physical education teacher or working as a basketball coach but all her dreams were cut short one spring afternoon when the unthinkable happened in her own apartment. What happened behind the door of apt number 9?

When talking about not noticing things, I came onto a scene where I had to do CPR on someone… my parents were there & distraught and I thought it was just they were upset about this person dying… I did not know until the paramedics arrived & had already taken over that I realized it was my own brother I was doing CPR on. He sadly passed away, but I know my brain blocked my recognition to allow me to do what I needed to do in that moment. The trauma of that day still affects me 10+ years later. Our minds often don’t know how to fathom the unthinkable.

Mindy was stripped of all her new beginnings 😔 It angers me that an individual feels they have a right to take a life

I think another reason we often hear "clichéd" sentiments about victims is that the same wonderful qualities that endeared them to their loved ones also likely made them targets to people with the worst intentions. Outgoing, beautiful, vivacious, funny, optimistic, motivated, outspoken people— people with big personalities who command attention & enjoy the spotlight. Tragically, their very best qualities likely made them stand out to the very worst of humanity.

People should be able to enjoy their lives & be their biggest, brightest, best selves without having to worry about the evil that could be lurking in the shadows.😞

My friend with MS gets the chemo style treatments Mindy was in a trial for. Its her saving grace. I believe Mindy's willingness to be a subject for this has def helped people heal <3

I am so sorry for your loss. No such thing as "Just a" when talking about our animal family members. I thank you for giving that little soul what I am sure was a wonderful life!!

I’m a hour and 3 minutes in and when you told me that she went back down the drive way to hug her Dad I felt that. I think a lot of times we know deep down something is different and that it could be the last time we might see them.
I remember the last time I saw my Mom before she died. I always hug everyone once and say my goodbyes and then I leave. But I got to the elevator and when I got in and the doors start to close I jumped back out and ran back to hug my Mom one last time and gave her a big kiss. She was surprised to see me again as she wasn’t expecting me to come back. I didn’t know it was gonna be the last time I saw her but I felt something pulling me back to her!

Imagine being the wife saying she was scared to stay in that apartment and that her “husband” held her not knowing he was the murderer

It bothers me that perpetrators past is unable to be used in trial. It sets a precedence and shows that persons character.

Oh, no!!! I am SO so sorry about Drogon! That picture of him is so cute!!! Never feel bad about being sad/depressed/upset over the loss of a pet. There’s not much in life that is harder.
Virtual prayers and hugs to you!!

I'm only about 10 minutes in and already crying. Thank you, Kimberleigha, for the compassion and caring that you put into these accounts.

Thank you for not removing people’s faith/beliefs. If someone has strong faith, it is a HUGE part of who they are and how they act/respond.

We all have rights and free will. 🙂

2 and a half hours! Yay! You have this ability to take these cases and tell them in such a captivating & compassionate way. I always tell people about your channel and how you stand out compared to many other true crime channels. I absolutely love the long deep dives.. makes me feel like i really know the victim. So sorry about your beardie. They are truly amazing pets! ❤❤♥️

OMG 2.5 hours ! Blessed by the best again.
Can’t wait to watch/listen to this ❤
I am very sorry for your loss. No one knows that feeling of losing a pet until they experience it. I had to put my pup of 9 years down last month and it was the most heartbreaking & hardest thing. Sending you love, light and hugs 💫

I love that you bring up that we shouldn’t over analyze the use of “they lit up a room.” The fact is that any of us can be that person to someone— it just drives home the tragedy of the crime.

Mindy is absolutely GORGEOUS. You can tell by her eyes she was a beautiful soul as well. Also, two and a half hours?! Your viewers ask and you deliver, one of the many things we love about you 🤍

I have MS and I thank Mindy’s sacrifice to assist with the development of treatment! My particular treatment is a chemotherapy treatment infusion. I will keep her memory in my heart along with a prayer for her family and friends! ❤

As someone who isn't "religious", but consider myself more on the "spiritual" end of things, I think it is awesome of you to always make sure, no matter what it may be, that you tell us their story, their beliefs, and honor their life. It's the way it should be, because it doesn't have anything to do with ourselves. You are the most respectful person 😊
