IPS Vs VA LG Nano IPS Vs Samsung VA Panel Depth Analysis LG Nano IPS Vs Samsung 1000R Curve Panel 98% Vs 95% DCI-P3 Color Gamut

Hi Friends Welcome to Viktors Reality:
today I have a Vs video on the LG 32GP850 Vs Samsung Odyssey G7 32" Monitors. You can see the real contrast levels on both as the G7 VA panel easily shows more picture depth in the picture making the picture look 3dish and much more enjoyable for dark room Gaming. If you have Ambient lighting in your room the IPS display looks really good with its small brightness advantage and color saturation to shine thru any other lighting you may have on.

*On XBOX Series X/S for the LG set your settings to PCRGB for added Contrast/Vividness!

*On PS5 enable HDMI Full also for more contrast on any LG IPS monitor.

I went with the VA panel because I can’t stand dark colors being more of a dark gray. Would rather have a true black color for gaming

I have definitely been loving my G7 32” for the past week. It took me a bit to figure it out but it looks amazing after get all the adjustments dialed in! Thanks for your videos to guide me through my purchase!

in movies VA is very strong, even in games i played elden ring on my viewsonic vx2718 va panel in dark scenes VA Is just so much better.

Thank you for this video! I'm in the market for a 4K 32" monitor and had just about decided on an IPS monitor due to it's cheaper price. I currently have 27" 1440p VA panel and I love the contrast both in games and watching videos and movies. I had no idea IPS was this bad in that aspect compared to VA. So I'll keep looking until I find a reasonably VA panel monitor. I don't think I want to go for OLED and risk burn-in

Meanwhile, I just got the LG and I'm trying to bring down the color saturation a little bit because it has that hyper real look. The thing about highly saturated color is it's like a sweet drink, it's not necessarily better, but the sweetness will make you think it's better in a direct comparison.

Good review, but I would like to compare it with the VA matrix from LG.
It's very surprising that I don't see 32-inch monitors on the VA matrix on sale, although I own one myself.
I would like to see updated versions of VA monitors from LG.
And what is also disappointing is the absence of a G7 without curved screen.

I ike VA more but I just can't use it. After years with TN I tryed VA (LC Power) and got bad motion sicknes und eye strain (VA Panel was kind of flickering / smearing in Motion.
Maybe a more expensive VA panel does the job better but I wont risk my health anymore and will stick with IPS and OLED.

can't really justify spending 250+ more euros on the g7 instead of the lg27gp850 just to notice a difference when playing dark looking games in a dark room honestly

I want a VA version more, but I hate the curvature. Just knowing that there is a a curve and the image is wrong, already upsets me. I might have to put up with having a brighter black image.
I've been in a state of monitor buying limbo for a while.

Sure black better but black trailing around objects is god awful ! Maybe its good if you dont play fAST paced games much something slower also it has lower response time compared LG or any other IPS. Ultra fast IPS might have overshoot and bit inverse ghosting but not as bad as on Samsung im glad i went with IPS. Im more settled in towards backlight glow and VA panels have still bleed but its not as noticeable sometimes 😑🙂 also some are HDR and its +- same better nits than on this...

Would be interesting to see a similar video of LG 27GP950-B vs Samsung Odyssey G70A.

I just bought an IPS and the 'glow' was staggering I had no idea about the bad black levels. I'm returning it immediately.

I bought Dell 27'' 1440p 165hz IPS for $250, it is recent and has better contrast than 98% of IPS panels. It is truly amazing I never notice backlight on dark background.

The problem is, when you want a curved monitor its always VA panel. I dont know why they did that but its really rare to find a curved ips panel monitor.

Its a shame that manufacturers apart from Samsung are not innovating in LCD VA and instead going down the LCD IPS route. No image retention, no burn in, no black smearing, high contrast ratio, 2k 240hz. I think AU Optronics provide the panels and are going to discontinue them. The issue is that Samsung only have them curved and high angled which gamers dislike.

what about scrolling text with dark background you forgot compare some weakness of va ghosting, motion blur flickering etc, also angle vision

My old viewsonic vx1932 wm led TFT panel has great contrast compared to ISP tv for example, wonder why this tech is abandoned...

The IPS is alot faster from 3:30 to 4:00, play the video, pause a few times and notice that the IPS is crisper, where on the VA there is more ghosting due to slower respons times. They both have cons and pro, but as a pure gaming monitor id pick IPS over the new VA's. The new IPS from LG with ATW has reduced the glow alot, it's the new GQ series. Also the curve on the Odyssey fckn sucks. Contrast ratio tho, here the VA wins every time but respons times are overall better on IPS still. Power usage, not sure, but from past VA panels, the VA tends to burn much more power.

Спасибо за видео. На стоп кадрах видно как VA искажает объекты сильнее IPS.

An easier way to think about it is in a dark room on a VA monitor, blacks look black. On an IPS monitor in a dark room, blacks look grey.
