I've stopped my main at all 17 stars because of how stupidly RNG it is beyond it on average taking a huge amount of time to get the mesos for just one item to 22 stars

As someone who had played GMS when it came out in 2003, before Gachapon, back when bought items were only Cosmetics over in-game items, it STILL amazes me that people Buy Into this amount of Chance

And this is the reason I'm not happy with maplestory on two fronts:

The First, being no pity system at all to re-compensate your loss. A 12 star item, is laughable. If you're going to blow up at 20+ starts not intentionally. At least give us a 15 star trace as an example.

The other front, is the ridiculous cost of star forcing period in GMS. If you're expecting most people to progress in general, at least lower the cost by a lot overall.

Yeah A few reason I had to really quit the game is that it didn't respect our hard labor by not improving the item destroy system....

unfortunately the pay to win aspect of maplestory is one of the highest in any game ever, because of the depth they created for each category.. everything is randomized and chosen from such a large library of options that it is literally impossible to get an endgame character in a f2p manner.. sad

This is a problem with every Korean mmo. They always always always put in these super RNG upgrade systems that have a chance to either degrade or outright destroy your item to keep you playing (or paying) longer.

It's an issue with all Korean games. I quit BDO for that exact reason. You don't grind for progress, you grind for gambling. Shit game mechanics
