December 2019 Paycheck Budget Overview

Today, I am bringing you with me on my budgeting journey. We will be going over the paycheck that I received on December 1, 2019. I am a paycheck budgeter, which means I create a paycheck every time I get paid.

Before, I got paid on the 5th and the 20th, but now that I am self-employed full-time, I get a paycheck once a month, on the first day of every month.

In this video, I walk you through every step of my budget and give you the details into what it looks like to use a successful realistic budget is someone's every-day life.

I have been sharing my real budget for over a year on Instagram, but only recently started sharing my budget on YouTube. By sharing my actual budget, I hope to show you the process and steps behind paycheck budgeting. I also hope it helps you understand the psychological decisions behind money management.

I would strongly recommend to treat your kitty envelope like a long-lasting sinking fund and fill it every month. You might not use it every month, or only use a fraction of it, but there might come a time your cat gets sick or has to get shots or some sort of vet care and that month you will spend like 300 dollars from your kitty sinking fund. Just a recommendation, love your videos btw:)

This is very helpful to see exactly how you do your system using your workbook! Still tracking December's expenses to begin budgeting in January. I have a knot in my stomach as to how I am going to make it work with the money we have coming in, but I am going to push past that uncomfortable feeling to just get started! I have a feeling the first few months are a learning curve regardless, and I need to get over my fear of failure and just do it!!

As far as your house savings goes...you have met your FIRST goal. You can save as much as you want, feel comfortable saving, etc. Housing prices continue to go up. I am watching in admiration Miko - you go!

THANK YOU for suggesting leaving a buffer in the checking account! The "every dollar" budgeting gave me anxiety. My husband and I leave a balance in our checking, it's a lifesaver.
