Lotsa Luck - The Librarian (October 1, 1973)

Stanley's mother invites a librarian over for dinner, thinking she'll be a "nice girl" for Stanley to meet. Initially irritated at his mother's matchmaking, Stanley soon changes his mind when he sees how attractive the woman is. As Stanley starts to woo her on his own, however, she warns him that she's not really the kind of girl he thinks. Jackie Joseph guest-stars.

I've never heard of this show. But oh boy, this was funny. The Librarian, looked like she was trying not to break character and LAUGH.16:59 LOL

Carl reiner was really great. Very funny. Guess people didmt like this one. Too bad.

I suspect one reason this show didn't survive is that it is a little too sharp, pointed, edgy, doesn't show Dom's positive humor enough. It might have worked better if his personality was reversed with his mother's. Then it would be Everyone Loves Raymond.

My goodness, this show reminds me in some ways of the English show about the same time called, "On The Buses" which was also a comedy and very popular.

Thanks again for these. IMO..It seemed Dom didn't sell the straight bit too well. I didn't realize he was Gay. Paul Lynde sold the straight role better. Arthur was much funnier on these shows. Again..IMO.
