Emile Bouret (IG: @ebouret) found the owner of his Dad's Toyota 2000GT a couple years ago and was promised the chance to see and drive the car, which is now worth about $1 million dollars. It took some coordination but it finally happened. Here's the story.

I can't be the only one that secretly hoped this multi-millionaire surprised Emile and ended up giving him the car....man that would be the perfect ending, and I doubt the guy would even miss it!

If I was that rich I would probably write in my will that the car goes to Emile after I am gone.. what a cool story!

We have been looking forward to this since Emile shared the story of meeting the current owner of the car. Such a cool opportunity!

This story gives me hope that I'll be able to see my dad's old '89 Bronco at least once. Havent't seen it since September 2009. Tracked it down to the town next to mine and apparently its a garaged and not scrapped and so far the VIN checks out

If it were me, it never would have happened. I'd have thought he was blowing me off. Congrats on your persistence paying off Emile!

The 2000GT (and Mazda Cosmo) have always been at the very top of my dream-car list. I was fortunate enough to eventually drive the 2000GT as well, and I'm nearly certain it was your Dad's car, Emile. The line of copies it sat between was almost incomprehensible - I couldn't believe it. After the owner rejected my request to drive the Shelby version, I'm pretty sure I drove your Dad's old car. I'll forever be thankful to the owner. He made a life-long dream come true.

Can't wait for the next version where he gets to buy it back from "The Pope".

I got a chance to see a 2000GT in western Kansas, of all places. What an impossibly beautiful car.

Man! I've been waiting for this update! I don't know if I've ever been happier for someone that I don't know and who I've never even met. Probably because I can relate with similar scenario between me, my father, and his 67 Austin Healey 3000. Anyhow, Awesome story and I couldn't be more thrilled, that the meet up actually happened!

I used to work for the guy. It's funny, how you want to keep his identity a secret, but the more you talk about his collection, it tells the whole world who he is. His personal collection, all of which he drives, it that specific and fantastic.

Every old car is a time machine. It has the capability to transport a person hack in time and stir unexpected memories along the way. The older you get, the more you appreciate that fact. I'm 72 years old, thanks for another great trip!

Great story. Had the pleasure to visit the “toy room”. Truly a privilege to see such a collection.
