Thank you so much for this beautiful tribute. Rest in peace, Gord. You'll be sorely missed.

On the Mount Olympus of poets & songwriters, Gordon Lightfoot has a little cottage over by the cliffs. The one where oil lamps burn through misty evenings when the seas are at tip my pen to you, sir.

We used to sing this song in elementary school in Northeastern Ohio back in the day! Never thought I'd see this crossover

What I've always like about this song is not only the rhyming scheme but how the syllables and consonants roll off the tongue. One example among many" "and farther below Lake Ontario". And yeah, "coming back from some mill in Wisconsin". Remarkable. Great job.

Your voice lends so well to this cover, you add such a ghostly quality that works great with the words. I love the acoustic too

Nice rendition. All of Canada(at least the older generation....) is in mourning for 'ol Gord right now, so it's nice to hear this kind of stuff.

I remember this song well. My brother was a merchant marine in the early 70s. Trained at Piney Point MD.

No one better to cover the legend than CWG. This was fantastic, as always!

This song reminds me of my Nana. Your voice reminds me of the Irish folk music she use to love. Cheers Charles. Wish you nothing but success. ❤
