Frédéric Chopin - Ballade no.4 op.52 - Amazing counterpoint!

The Ballade No. 4 in F minor, Op. 52 is a ballade for solo piano by Frédéric Chopin, completed in 1842 in Paris. It is commonly considered one of Chopin's masterpieces, and one of the masterpieces of 19th-century piano music.

Of the four ballades, it is considered by many pianists to be the most difficult, both technically and musically.

It's a miracle that Chopin didn't write any symphonies or orchestral pieces. This is as orchestral as possible for piano. Maybe with some instrumentation lessons from Berlioz he could have been more than just a piano composer. What do you think?

This is so beautiful. I hope to play this one day. I have just finished learning Chopins 1st ballade and I’m still struggling with the coda but this piece has always been so beautiful to me

Any tips with learning this- I’ve been sight reading (not really sight reading but more like revisiting after months after looking at the sheet music once or twice) ballade and got up to here- I gave up at around here 😂

This is probably the greatest piano piece ever written. The only competitor I know is Beethoven’s Opus 109.

I feel like despite the rubato the tempo should still be steadier
