CLYDE BARROW’S Shootout at the Lillie McBride House (number 4)

Bonnie and Clyde, real names Clyde Barrow and Bonnie Parker, along with W.D. Jones, visited Dallas on January 6, 1933, not only to visit family but to also plan a jailbreak to get Raymond Hamilton out of jail. As usual their timing was about as bad as ever. Clyde wanted to discuss the plan with Raymond’s sister, Lillie McBride, who lived mere blocks from Clyde’s father’s filling station. Unfortunately, Lillie’s living room was full of cops who hoped to catch someone else, Odell Chambless. They were as surprised as anyone when they ended up shooting it out with Clyde Barrow instead, ultimately leading to the death of Fort Worth officer Malcolm Davis. Find out exactly what happened right where the event occurred.

Madame Morbid - so glad i stumbled on to your work - I have been fascinated with bonnie an clyde since moving to dallas forty years ago. I have read many books on the duo and feel im pretty well informed on their history. I also watched your dove road video and i am so pleased with both that your facts are correct and documented - keep up the good work you have a new follower. you may already know this but there is a book titled "My Life with Bonnie and Clyde" written by Bucks wife Blanche and edited by John Neal Phillips. Blanche lived in the dallas area until she died in 1988.

I really don't want to sound like a snob just because I'm from England, but why do Americans have such lack of respect for the very few historical buildings that still remain?

I remember back in the 60s as a kid that we would sneak out past midnight and ride our bikes around the neighborhood on Friday nights cause my mom and stepdad would always go to the honkytonks and they never knew.

I don’t know if you’ve ever investigated any of the stories involving Jesse James, but there are some that are quite interesting, for sure. Back in 2010, I met a guy whose first and middle name were Jesse James and started a band with him. Playing off of the “Jesse James” theme of his name, we named the band ‘the Pinkerton Raid’. And if you know anything about the James gang or any old detective tales from that time, the name Pinkerton will likely ring a bell. Anyway, it’d be cool to see a video on either the James gang or the Pinkerton detective agency!

Oh, and although I’m no longer a part of it, ‘the Pinkerton Raid’ is still going strong, performing, and releasing new music 😜🤣

I always wondered where this house was … and then I saw in the background the recreation center that is next to the last school I taught in before I retired from Dallas ISD in 2008. Now I know where this famous house is! :-)

Sounds like Officer Davis had a nice life until he ran into the pint sized sociopath Clyde. Great job Madame.

When I was a kid back in 92 I first learned of Bonnie and Clyde threw a movie that was aired on Fox special back in 1992, , , and for years as soon as I got my first cell phone I was searching for that movie on YouTube or Google and I was never able to find it but 4 years ago it finally came out on YouTube and I was wondering have you seen that particular movie? it's for free here on YouTube, , it's called Bonnie and Clyde the true story

I've been trying to catch up with all your videos theyre so inspiring because out of all the stories I heard Bonnie was considered the mean one of the bunch and it was said she really ran the gang ! I heard only once before the things your saying that Bonnie was mainly just going along for the excitement of being with a bad boy ! The burrows gang was going before Bonnie was even in the picture so this makes more sense as to Bonnies real part in all this!

Love it MM. Luckily I got to see this house before it may be torn down, it´s rough. Funny how authors describe the events differently. One I read said Clyde shot at someone in a second floor window. Obviously way off!
