This feature where he counts how many times you press the button was added in the e+ version. I read on the old Nintendo JP site where they had fanmail that someone and their sister were competing to see who could press it the most. And I asked a dataminer and it actually does count how many times you press it! I wonder what the record is…

As a child I always mashed the buttons because I couldn‘t read so I actually never got past Resetti since I obv didn‘t know why he was here screaming at me and why he didn‘t go away. So in the end I was forced to stop playing Animal crossing until I learned how to read and spell lol
