Wow..

I know this video was posted a long time ago, but the report of several CMEs about to hit this weekend made me want to see them. The recent eruptions heading to earth are sufficient enough to warrant a warning, but they're certainly not the largest the planet has ever had to contend with.

I haven't found a video of the recent ones happening yet.

The size of the eruptions is unfathomable! For context, the one in this video has to be several hundred times the size of the earth.. just incredible.

The size of everything in space is incomprehensible..Consider that the Sun loses about 4.3 million tons of mass every second!

Trillions of tons of plasma launched off daily during solar maximum. Our star is almost bigger than we can comprehend, but in the grand scheme it's a g2 main sequence star (yellow dwarf) one of the smallets stars out there in an area with more stars than we understand

Even if all of it is gas and plasma, it's still incredibly dense in there. Solid, liquid, gas, it's still the same matter. Gas just allows matter based objects to grow to larger sizes, and still experience similar properties like our solid, liquid based objects like planets.
