The target lock system in Elden Ring is pathetic. The worst I have ever played. Sometimes it will not even stay locked onto a target.

its nice to learn unlocking camera bc limits your movement and makes bosses read you and always hit you especially on long winded up attacks

So i beat the beastman of farum azula without locking on, no wonder it took me so long, i was missing half my attacks

I wish there was an option to lock the camera on an enemy but to be able to control direction of attacks manually.

I've been playing Elden Ring for a while now and I've noticed something about LOCK ON that nobody seems have noticed - let me know if anyone else has noticed this:

On certain enemies - especially bosses and more serious enemies like Crucible Knights - they act and react differently and exploit your LOCK ON to their advantage: using bizarre combinations of movies and jumps to force you to back into corners, cliff sides, or get themselves into position where they have the advantage. But if you wing-it without a LOCK ON they stick more to the basic motions. The double Crucible Knight boss fight is a good example of this as you lock on to one and it backs off allowing the other to come at you - but you drop the lock on you can actually force them to reengage. Fire Giant also love to exploit your camera by rolling an onscene amount of times or other lunging attacks to put himself into positions where his vulnerable foot is unreachable on a rock or free-floating off a cliff, but if you don't lock on he kind of maintains the rodeo dance around you or your summons.

Anybody else notice that?

Hello, my issue is the game is swapping targets on me without me doing anything. You are saying you are pressing buttons to swap targets. I will have a target locked on. My target will be close to the center of the screen. Another mob will move close to the fight. Even with my target near the center screen, my targeting automatically swaps to the new mob. What this is doing, killing my ability to circle strafe. It is pulling me away, messing up my timing, and then I am taking hits from the mob I am intending to target. Any help, please?

Are you able to lock-on to a target with a bow and arrow? I saw another tutorial that said you could, but it never works for me. I'm on PC and whenever I have my bow raised, the target lock functionality is gone.

Targeting sucks, as you see on your demo. And auto-target does not work which is the reason why i watched the video initially

How do i free up my camera to rotate and move while I'm locked on? My camera is rigidly stuck to target orientation, which no camera control.

This appears to be wrong. The tab key does nothing for me on the PC
