I think it's adorable that this is his response when you ask him about an open relationship with Halsin. Something like "what would you say to a third person in our relationship" and then he responds with this 😅. Like, this is where his mind immediately goes, so sweet. Also, Gale, sir, you're one of the few party members I'd actually trust to take care of a little person in a way that won't give them huge psychological issues in a decade or two.

Honestly, it’s always the people who openly claim they’re probably not good with kids who wind up being excellent with kids. The reason is they actually understand the level of care that goes into looking after them. They’re emotionally intelligent enough to understand they’ll be looking after a whole other being that needs attention, food, safety, comfort, and to be taught emotional regulation. His mind immediately goes to “Hang on, our lifestyle wouldn’t be great for a kid. Kids deserve more stability.”

I think he says that now (at this point he's feeling unworthy due to the debacle with Mystra) but the very fact that he's even talking about a child in the middle of a fight to essentially save the world says that it's something strongly on his mind. It's hilarious that this conversation was if Tav mentions "adding" Halsin to the relationship, Gale is so monogamous that he doesn't even think of the possibility (which I love ❤).
But just look at him! He exudes dad energy, don't tell me professor Gale Dekarios won't make a good father cause he absolutely would. I think once we get back to his tower in Waterdeep he'd change his tune!!
